New Fujifilm X-T30 Expected to Feature Joystick Navigation

Leaked images of the new Fujifilm X-T30 have been circulating on the internet for the past week. While no significant changes have been noted compared to the previous version, there is one particular adjustment to the design that has captivated a number of photographers who rely on the Fujifilm brand – this is the removal of the original navigation system of the older model and the introduction of a new joystick, which will likely act as a replacement for the older button-based navigation system.

New Joystick To Be Added To The Fujifilm X-T30

Nokishita, a Japanese-based website that provides details on the latest rumors in terms of cameras and the photography industry, recently published a series of photos that were said to represent an upcoming product from the Fujifilm brand. The camera reported revealed in these photos is the Fujifilm X-T30, an upgraded version of the older Fujifilm X-T30 model.

At first glance, it is quite difficult to tell the two models apart. The company behind the camera has decided to maintain the majority of the design elements that were initially introduced in the X-T20 model, with a couple of modifications on the inside, of course, to ensure that the X-T30 is a worthy upgrade for photographers to consider.

Looking closely at the photographs that were leaked on the Japanese website, however, notes one major difference that has gotten many photographers talking. The Fujifilm X-T20 camera features a direction pad on the back of the camera, next to the display unit. The navigation pad came with four directional buttons, along with a button in the center that acted as a menu button, as well as a button for selecting features on the screen.

With the new Fujifilm X-T30 camera, however, it seems like the navigation pad will be removed. Instead, there seems to be a joystick added to the back of the camera in place of the directional pad. The menu button is placed underneath the joystick, instead of in the center of a direction pad, on the X-T30.

This new joystick will likely act in the same way as the four directional buttons did with the older model, but take up less space and might be a convenient addition for many photographers.

Not much is known in terms of the technical specifications that the Fujifilm X-T30 will offer photographers. It has been reported that the new release from Fujifilm is expected to offer a 26.1-megapixel camera sensor. The previous X-T20 model features a 24.3-megapixel camera sensor, which means if this rumor is true, the camera is expected to take somewhat better quality photographs.

According to images that were leaked from unspecified sources, a website in Japan noted that the new Fujifilm X-T30 would be launched with a new navigation system used to adjust settings and scroll through menus, as well as provide functionality while the camera is in use. The joystick will replace the original directional button system. Nothing has been officially confirmed by Fujifilm as of yet, however.
