Fujifilm X-T20 DEALS

The Fujifilm X series of mirrorless cameras offer a wide range of versatile devices for different uses. The Fujifilm X-T10, for example, is a great entry-level model, suitable for beginners. In this review, we look at the Fujifilm X-T20, however – a mid-range mirrorless camera. As you will see, this device has some superb features and benefits from a top-quality Fujifilm image processor and CMOS sensor. It provides sharp images, competent autofocus, and great usability.

Aside from the brilliant quality, the Fujifilm X-T20 is also well-built and designed. If you read on, we discuss these features in-depth – we look at how usable the camera is, how well it performs, and its main features. Furthermore, we look at how it compares to other popular mirrorless cameras – enjoy!

Main Features

First, let’s look at the main features this camera has. We should first note the improved sensor and processor – both are the latest Fujifilm technology and provide excellent image quality. Furthermore, this mirrorless camera benefits from the new Fujifilm Firmware Version 2.00. This provides support for Fujifilm’s X Raw Studio software – a brilliant program for editing RAW photos. The following are the basic specifications of the Fujifilm X-T20:

  • Size: 118 x 82 x 40mm
  • Weight: 383g with battery
  • Sensor: X-Trans CMOS III
  • Image Processor: X-Processor Pro
  • Max FPS: N/A
  • Max Video Resolution: 1080p HD
  • Connectivity: WiFi / Bluetooth
  • Touchscreen: Yes

The touchscreen is extremely clear and highly functional – the only downside is that it doesn’t rotate. You can simply tilt the screen which helps when recording video. This is a minor drawback – the viewfinder is ideally positioned and makes up for the rigidity of the touchscreen.

Design

The Fujifilm X-T20 looks amazing – it has a stylish charm and almost a retro feel. The two-tone design features a black bottom section with a tactile grip and a top silver section. The contrast is refreshing and is complemented by the great design of the X-series lens.

In addition to this, the X-T20 has a host of different controls. For the beginner, this might seem overwhelming. Fear not, however – there is an automatic mode than selects optimal camera settings depending on the scene composition. If you do want to take greater control of the camera’s functions, the three separate dials and rear control dial allow you to quickly change settings, including exposure and shutter speed.

This camera is extremely portable and lightweight – this is partially due to it being mirrorless. You can easily transport it. Moreover, even when an X-series zoom lens is attached, the Fujifilm X-T20 is still compact and easy to carry. This makes it an excellent camera for travel photography, or street photography, or even shooting at a venue where movement is essential.

Usability

We found the Fujifilm X-T20 to be highly usable. If you have experience with other DSLR cameras, you may find the abundance of dials confusing. However, once you understand their purpose, you will find the device intuitive to use. There are three dials – each of which has a different function. Moreover, there is a myriad of extra controls and a control dial that can be programmed for various functions.

Due to the portable size, we also found this camera easy to carry, and a great device for shooting video. Even if equipped with a lens hood and microphone, the Fujifilm X-T20 is lightweight and compact.
